Cycles in the Wood
Some time ago I posted some melaleucas and things that held their old pods on the tree, which then reflowers from new ones. Here is more, a different variety, shown in the flower in autumn. I couldn’t help thinking it was interesting to see the transformation happening in the Woods, yet again.

Yes, Jane, you often don’t think of flowering things in Autumn, and I liked the cyclic effect.
In the southeastern US, where I grew up, the live oaks shed their leaves in the spring instead of the fall, with the new one appearing immediately afterwards. I always found this interesting.
That is interesting. I like hearing about things like that.
I remember the pod pictures, Imogen88. So this is what they look like after podding? Reminds me of bottle brushes. Are the bristles soft or firm and spiky? A good photo.
