Babe in the Woods

possum sleep

This little white tail belongs to a small possum, a native in the woods, sound asleep during the day. At night this little one will roam and fossick. The sleeping place looks so safe and cosy, it’s no wonder this tree becomes home for this babe in the woods.

  1. This is wonderful! That baby probably thinks he’s completely hidden in his sleeping place, but there’s that telltale white tail sticking out…too cute.

  2. What a lovely little quotation mark of a tail . . .for your tale!

  3. Dear me! One little baby could be unceremoniously pulled by the tail by some passing raven or other bird of prey. Needs to be taught to tuck that one in 🙂

  4. How many of you said “Awwwwwwww” when you saw this image? 🙂 This is such a precious picture.

  5. I did, Lori. Awwww! It’s there, just sleeping away. So glad you enjoyed it. It was just too practical and enticing for words. Some creatures have all the smarts!

  6. …and also, it has learned to keep the tail in. You can relax, Heather 😉
